Ten foreign cruise vessels have docked in Nha Trang Bay in south-central Khanh Hoa province since early this year, with over 20,750 foreign tourists then visiting local attractions, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.

Forty-three foreign cruise ships have registered to dock at Nha Trang Bay this year, including luxurious cruises from the Bahamas, Malta, Ukraine, France, and Italy. Many carry thousands of passengers each time.

Khanh Hoa welcomed 23 cruise vessels last year, carrying more than 45,000 international tourists.

The province views tourists on cruise vessels as a key source of visitors into the future. Its tourism industry has asked tourism agencies and businesses to improve their human resources, develop more specialized tourism products, and promote eco-tourism and community-based tourism to serve foreign visitors.
