The fourth National Forum on the Development of Digital Technology Enterprises took place on December 8 with the theme “Sustainability and increased Vietnam value in the global value chain”.
The Forum drew about 1,000 attendees, including hundreds of specialists, representatives from prestigious local and foreign enterprises in the field, and tech startups in Vietnam, and was held in-person in Hanoi as well as online.
The first holding was in 2019 and it has become one of the biggest annual activities of the country’s digital industry, setting orientations for the development of tech businesses.
The 2022 forum focused on discussing strategic orientations on the development of Vietnam’s digital technology industry in line with Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW on the acceleration of national industrialization and modernization to 2030 and vision to 2045.
Promulgated by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Resolution stipulates numerous guiding principles for the development of Vietnam’s digital technology and digital products.
According to the Ministry of Information and Communications, despite certain difficulties and challenges, the digital technology industry has still affirmed its role and position, earning estimated revenue of over $160 billion this year.
The industry has been a driving force, taking the lead and setting the foundation for the development of a digital economy, digital society, and digital government. More than 70,000 tech businesses have registered and been operational, surpassing the target set for 2025.
“Make in Vietnam” tech products and solutions have not only been applied locally but also reached overseas markets, with major groups such as Viettel, VNPT, and FPT taking the lead in this approach.
Figures reveal that some 1,400 Vietnamese tech businesses have products selling globally.
