The beach city of Nha Trang in south-central Khanh Hoa province is to become a financial and trade city for Vietnam and Southeast Asia by 2040 under the city’s new development planning.
In a proposal to adjust the city’s planning by 2040, which has been submitted to the Ministry of Construction for appraisal before going to the Prime Minister for approval, Nha Trang is to become a marine and island urban area with green, clean, and sustainable development.
The city will offer diverse services of national and international standard in connection with natural landscapes and culture.
It will become a national and international marine tourism center, an administrative-political, economic, cultural, scientific and technical hub for Khanh Hoa, and an economic, scientific-technical, educational, and healthcare center for the south-central coastal and central highlands’ regions.
The city will be expanded to cover a natural area of over 26,700 ha.
