Ninh Binh welcomes 2.7mln tourists in Jan-Feb

Tourism revenue in northern province estimated at $102 million in the opening two months of the year, up 43.2%.

Northern Ninh Binh province welcomed over 1.9 million tourists in February, a year-on-year increase of 56.3 per cent, figures from the provincial Department of Tourism show.

Total tourism revenue was estimated at nearly VND1.8 trillion ($73.4 million), a 1.9-fold rise compared to February last year.

The results bring visitor numbers to nearly 2.7 million in the first two months of the year and tourism turnover to over VND2.5 trillion ($102 million), increases of 16.6 per cent and 43.2 per cent, respectively, year-on-year.

Ninh Binh targets welcoming 7.5 million tourists this year, including 900,000 foreign visitors, with tourism revenue to reach VND8.2 trillion ($334 million).

Over 6.5 tourists million visited the province last year, a 77 per cent rise compared to 2022, with tourism turnover standing at over VND6.5 trillion ($265 million), or double the figure in 2022.
