Total outstanding credit in Ho Chi Minh City and nearby Dong Nai city reached approximately VND6.392 quadrillion ($242 billion) by the end of August 2026, up 10.08% from the end of 2025, according to the State Bank of Vietnam’s Region 2 branch.

Credit outstanding also increased by 1% month-on-month in August, reflecting continued growth in lending activity across the two southern cities.
