The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has disbursed over VND43.18 trillion ($1.72 billion) of public investment capital in the first nine months of 2024, equivalent to 60% of the assigned plan and exceeding the national average rate (47%), the MoT reported at a meeting held on October 11 to review its tasks in the third quarter.
In 2024, the ministry was assigned a total public investment capital of VND71.284 trillion (nearly $2.84 billion) by the Government.
Of which, nearly VND24.3 trillion ($971 million) was disbursed for the North-South Expressway project, accounting for 56% of the total. Disbursement for ODA projects reached over VND2.62 trillion ($104 million), or 51% of the plan.
In the nine-month period, the MoT put into operation seven projects, including the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao and Dien Chau – Bai Vot sections of the projected North-South Expressway.
Meanwhile, construction of many transport projects was kickduring the period, including some sections of the Ho Chi Minh Highway which also runs from the north to the south of the country.
