Nguyễn Thuấn -

Some $612 million to be invested in boosting the central province’s night-time offerings.

Central Quang Tri province plans to implement a master plan for the development of its night-time economy in the 2023-2025 period with a vision to 2030, with investment of nearly VND14.7 trillion ($612 million), according to the Provincial People’s Committee.

The plan is aimed at exploiting the potential and advantages the province holds to create unique offerings for the night-time economy while improving the quality of trade, services, and tourism to attract more visitors.

It will develop a trade and entertainment center at the Co Dau ecopark in Dong Ha city, a trade services center at the Lao Bao international border gate, and a coastal tourism, entertainment, and urban complex in Gio Linh district.

Pedestrian malls and night markets will be set up to attract more visitors. The province targets attracting 2 million tourists to take part in night-time economic activities by 2030.

Under the plan, the services sector is expected to grow 7-7.5 per cent annually in the 2023-2025 period and 8-8.5 per cent in the 2026-2030 period.
