Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to Vietnam from June 19 to 20, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.
The visit will be made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong.
The bilateral relations between Vietnam and Russia have continuously developed in many fields. The two-way trade turnover in 2023 reached $3.63 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%.
Russia currently has 186 investment projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of $984.98 million, ranking 28th among 145 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. These projects focus on oil and gas, mining, manufacturing and processing.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese businesses have invested in 18 projects in Russia with a total registered capital of $1.63 billion, ranking fourth among 80th countries and territories which Vietnam have invested in.
Vietnam and Russia have signed over 100 cooperation documents since 1991, covering a wide range of areas such as trade and commerce, investment, oil and gas, education and training, culture and science.
