The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has developed a “Handbook for infection control and safety measures for Covid-19 applied at manufacturing plants”, which emphasizes that businesses need to establish an Emergency Response Team (ERT) responsible for establishing policies and standard procedures and implementing safety measures in the workplace in a timely and effective manner.

Hanoi has set a target that, by 2030, its rate of trained workers will stand at 75-80 per cent of the total, of which vocationally-trained workers with degrees and certificates will reach over 60 per cent and those with information technology skills will reach 90 per cent.

Vietnam has begun its largest Covid-19 vaccination campaign as this is the best solution to control the pandemic as quickly as possible. Vaccination rates, however, remain low. It is necessary to utilize all resources to accelerate the campaign, with mobilizing more non-public medical forces becoming essential.

The government and the Ministries of Health and Information and Communication have assigned the Viettel Group to implement a vaccination management platform. The platform consists of four systems and is being applied in 62 of the country’s 63 cities and provinces. As of August 5, nearly 3.5 million Vietnamese had obtained a digital Covid-19 vaccination certificate via the platform.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has suggested that vehicles used to transfer passengers to and from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport be considered “green lane” means of transport, which are prioritized to operate in special lanes into Covid-19 prevention and control areas. It has also suggested that there be written instructions for Vietnamese citizens wanting to return to Vietnam as well as guidelines for airlines carrying passengers from Vietnam to international destinations, so they will not be forced to return to the country.

At an online conference in Ho Chi Minh City on deploying technology platforms in Covid-19 prevention and control efforts nationwide, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung emphasized that the application of technology is crucial and deployment must be uniform.
