According to the Resolution which takes effect on September 20, 2026, the centrally-run city of Bac Ninh will be established based on the entire natural land area and population size of the current Bac Ninh Province.

The city aims to develop a modern high-tech industrial sector that integrates deeply into global supply chains, establishing itself as a leading national and regional hub for electronics, with a focus on semiconductors, microchips, and artificial intelligence (AI).
