Thu Duc city in Ho Chi Minh City plans to invest in building 22 social housing projects and one housing project for workers, according to the city’s People’s Committee.

Since 2016, Thu Duc city has completed and put into operation six social housing projects with 5,960 units, according to Deputy Chairman of the city’s People’s Committee Nguyen Ky Phung.

The city is currently building two other social housing projects with 1,490 units and one social housing project for workers to lease with 1,040 units.

Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council Nguyen Thi Le has requested the Thu Duc City People’s Committee to help investors in social housing projects accelerate the implementation of approved projects to ensure their progress as scheduled.

Ms. Le also asked Thu Duc city to invest and develop infrastructure, particularly transport and social infrastructure, in conformity with the development of social housing.
