The Mekong Delta’s Tra Vinh province had disbursed over VND932 billion ($39.3 million) this year as of May 4, equal to nearly 20 per cent of the annual target, local authorities have said.
Reporting to a government delegation during a working session on May 11 on production and trade, public investment, infrastructure construction, and import and export activities in Tra Vinh, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Van Han said the province posted higher socio-economic growth in the opening months of the year compared to the same period of 2022.
It recorded GRDP growth of 3.18 per cent in the first quarter.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, who was assigned by the Prime Minister to work with provincial authorities on local socio-economic development, instructed Tra Vinh to focus on disbursing public investment capital given that 20 per cent is still lower than requirements.
The province also needs to keep close watch over global changes to make appropriate forecasts.
