The Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Exhibition 2025 – SemiExpo Vietnam 2025 opened in Hanoi on November 7, underscoring Vietnam's strong commitment to establishing its presence on the global technology map.

The two-day event with the theme "Fostering Vietnam's Semiconductor Aspirations" has attracted 5,000 delegates and 200 booths from leading global technology corporations such as Lam Research, Coherent, Qorvo, Amkor, GlobalFoundries, Applied Materials, Micron, Intel, Samsung, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm.

The event features an innovation and career hub, a high-level policy dialogue, and a series of technical workshops and networking events focused on talent development and supply chain connectivity.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, who also acts as head of the National Steering Committee for the Development of the Semiconductor Industry, said Vietnam is actively building a robust domestic semiconductor ecosystem.

The government has established the National Steering Committee for the Development of the Semiconductor Industry, issued a development strategy for the semiconductor industry until 2030 with a vision to 2050, and launched a human resource development program targeting the training of 100,000 semiconductor and AI engineers by 2030, according to the Deputy Prime Minister.

Vietnam now has over 50 microchip design companies with approximately 7,000 engineers, along with 15 companies and over 10,000 technicians involved in packaging, testing, and production. Major partners such as Samsung, Intel, Amkor, and Foxconn are continuously expanding their operations, while leading corporations like NVIDIA, Qualcomm, and Marvell have chosen Vietnam as a strategic base for R&D and chip development.
