Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a Vietnamese delegation visited Tochigi prefecture in Japan on November 23, during an official visit to the country, where the PM asked Governor Tomikazu Fukuda to expand business activities with localities in Vietnam to effectively exploit all potential and available cooperative mechanisms. NA readies for extra-ordinary meeting

During the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee meeting on November 22, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue noted that at the extra-ordinary session next month, the government will submit a maximum of five matters, including complex and urgent issues relating to national welfare and people’s livelihoods. The NA Standing Committee also passed comment on the draft Social Insurance Agreement with the Republic of Korea and suggested the government propose amendments and supplements to the 2014 Law on Social Insurance.

GIC project receives German Government funding

The Green Innovation Centers in the Agriculture and Food Sector (GIC) in Vietnam project has received funding of EUR7 million ($7.95 million) from the German Government. Major fiscal policies needed soon for economic recovery

At the “Economic recovery and development post-Covid-19, international experiences and lessons for Vietnam” event organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Mr. Nguyen Minh Cuong, ADB Chief Economist in Vietnam, said that although there is still fiscal space for implementing a bailout and economic recovery, Vietnam may not have much time. As other countries have entered into a recovery cycle, it will be too late if Vietnam only now begins to introduce and implement major fiscal policies.
