Vietnam welcomed more than 15.4 million international visitors in the first nine months of 2025, up 21.5% year-on-year, according to the National Statistics Office under the Ministry of Finance.
In September alone, the country received 1.5 million foreign tourists, a 19.5% increase compared to the same month last year.
Air travel remained the dominant mode of entry, accounting for 84.5% of total arrivals, followed by land crossings at 15.3% and sea routes at 0.2%.
China and the Republic of Korea continued to be Vietnam’s two largest source markets, contributing nearly half of all international visitors with 3.9 million and 3.2 million arrivals, respectively. Other major markets included Taiwan (China), the US, Japan, and India.
Revenue from accommodation and food services was estimated at VND624.4 trillion ($23.68 billion) during the nine-month period, up 14.8% year-on-year. Meanwhile, travel agencies generated around VND69.6 trillion ($2.62 billion), a sharp increase of 20.5%.
