Vietnam’s pangasius exports reached $205 million in June, up 5% from the same period last year, bringing the total export revenue from this product in the first six month of 2026 to approximately $1.1 billion, an increase of 12% year-on-year, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
China continued to be Vietnam’s largest pangasius export market. In the six-month period, exports to China reached $299 million, up 35% from the same period last year and accounting for approximately 27% of the sector’s total export value.
Alongside China, the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) bloc has emerged as a new bright spot for Vietnam’s pangasius exports. In the first four months of the year, exports to CPTPP member countries reached nearly $128 million, up 21% year-on-year and accounting for around 18% of total export revenue.
With export revenue reaching $1.1 billion in the first half of 2026, VASEP forecasts that the pangasius industry could surpass the $2 billion export mark for the full year, if the current growth momentum is maintained.
