Vietnam’s seafood export revenue reached $8.33 billion in the first nine months of 2025, up 15.5% year-on-year, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
In September alone, export turnover totaled nearly $991 million, representing a 7.5% increase from the same period last year.
Shrimp remained on the top, earning nearly $410 million in September and bringing the nine-month total to over $3.38 billion, a 20.3% rise year-on-year.
Tra fish (pangasius) exports also performed strongly, generating almost $191 million in September, up 11%, and more than $1.6 billion in the nine-month period — up nearly 10%, thanks to robust demand from China, the US, and the Middle East.
Among major markets, China (including Hong Kong) was the standout, with total imports from Vietnam surging 32.1% to $1.76 billion, making it Vietnam’s largest seafood importer.
Japan and the EU also maintained solid growth, recording turnovers of $1.27 billion and $885 million, up 15.6% and 13.3%, respectively.
