Southern Binh Duong province is projected to need 70,000-80,000 workers in 2025, primarily in manufacturing, accounting, maintenance, and machine operation, according to a report from the Vietnam News Agency.

The demand for labor is expected to surge after the Lunar New Year Holiday, which will fall between January 25 and February 2, 2025, and continue through the second quarter of 2025, with general and skilled labor accounting for 75% of the need.

To ensure an adequate labor supply, the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will continue to promote employment counseling and placement, as well as expand cooperation with other localities.

Additionally, the provincial Employment Service Center will develop more applications and digital platforms to facilitate stronger connections within the southern region's labor market.

In 2024, the number of workers filing for unemployment benefits in the province reached 83,000, a decrease of 13.67% compared to last year. Among them, 78,470 individuals received benefits, totaling nearly VND2 trillion (more than $78.5 million).

Meanwhile, the number of workers supported with vocational training increased significantly, reaching 5,285, a 55.95% increase compared to 2023.

The Binh Duong labor market showed many positive signs of recovery in 2024. Industries such as textiles, wood, and footwear, which faced difficulties due to a lack of orders in the previous year, have signed new contracts, boosted production for domestic consumption and export. The number of businesses increased by 151% compared to 2023, with a demand for nearly 80,000 workers, up 75% year-on-year.
