Ample space remains for Vietnam and India to boost their economic cooperation, especially in emerging areas such as digital transformation, software, semiconductors, and AI, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang said in his address to the Vietnam-India Business Forum, held on the sidelines of the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit on January 10 in India.

He noted that the Vietnam-India strategic comprehensive partnership has posted important progress in a host of fields.

The two business communities have played key roles in boosting bilateral economic cooperation, with targets now in place to raise two-way trade to $20 billion.

However, economic cooperation is yet to match the political ties between the two countries as well as their potential and strengths, Deputy Prime Minister Quang said.

He emphasized that Vietnam gives priority to promoting relations with India, particularly in economy, trade, and investment.

It is willing to create the best conditions possible for Indian businesses to successfully operate in the country in the long term, he added.
