Northern Hai Phong city posted positive socio-economic indicators in the first half of the year, attracting $1.98 billion in FDI, up 80.10 per cent against the same period last year, according to provincial authorities.
Its GRDP growth is estimated at 9.94 per cent year-on-year, or 2.2-fold higher than the national average.
The number of tourists to the city stood at 3,466, up 10 per cent year-on-year.
However, the port city failed to achieve certain economic targets during the period. its Index of Industrial Production was up 12.28 per cent year-on-year but lower than the targeted 15 per cent.
The volume of cargo transported via its ports totaled 69.10 million tons, down 3.44 per cent year-on-year.
