Hanoi attracted $1.54 billion of FDI in the first nine months of the year, including 197 new projects totaling over $1.1 billion, figures from the city’s Statistics Office show.
In September alone, the municipal authorities licensed 24 FDI projects with a total registered investment capital of $12.9 million.
In the nine-month period, the city posted a GRDP growth of 6.06% year-on-year. Of which, the industry-construction sector rose 6.22%; the services sector increased 6.48%; and the agro-forestry and fisheries sector surged 0.66%.
The capital city’s import and export activities made an impressive recovery in the first three quarters with a total trade value of $44.9 billion, up 14.4% year-on-year. Total export revenue reached $14.4 billion, soaring 16.8% compared to the same period last year.
During the period, as many as 21,840 new businesses were established, with a total registered capital of nearly VND199 trillion ($8 billion).
The city welcomed nearly 4.6 million tourists in the nine-month period, skyrocketing 31.3% year-on-year.
