The Hoan Kiem Ward People's Committee has announced details about a new square and park, east of Hoan Kiem Lake.

The project will be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 will involve compensation procedures, resettlement support, investment in Phase 1, and  commencement of construction before October 10, 2025.

The implementation of the new square and park project aims to create a square linked with a green space on the east side of the Lake, forming a community living space for organizing artistic activities, exhibitions, and cultural events, thereby contributing to the improvement of the spiritual life of the people.

It will also combine with the development of an urban railway network (the research area belongs to the TOD area of C9 station - Urban Railway Line 2, Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao), helping to enhance accessibility to the area. Pedestrian walkways will be expanded, combined with a public electric vehicle service to reduce personal vehicles and create a pedestrian-friendly environment.

It is expected that the total area of the eastern Hoan Kiem Lake area will be about 2.14 ha, with its western boundary adjacent to Hoan Kiem Lake and Dinh Tien Hoang Street; its northern boundary adjacent to existing residential areas; its eastern boundary adjacent to Ly Thai To Street; and its southern boundary adjacent to Tran Nguyen Han Street.
