The Kon Tum Provincial People’s Committee in the central highlands has sent a document to the Prime Minister proposing the addition of its Mang Den Airport to the master plan for the development of the national airport network in the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050.

Construction of the GreenFeed food processing factory in southern Tay Ninh province, belonging to the GreenFeed Vietnam Joint Stock Company, is expected to start next year and be completed in 2024. It sits on 60,000 sq m and has a capacity of 24,000-26,000 tons of processed food a year, with total investment of more than VND700 billion ($29.53 million). The factory will be fitted out with modern equipment and machinery as well as automated and environmentally-friendly production lines.

The Mekong Delta’s Tien Giang province has announced a list of projects calling for investment, including 59 projects with total capital of more than VND22 trillion ($929.85 million) in the fields of urban development, residential areas, trade and services, tourism, industry, agriculture, health, education, and sport.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh chaired a meeting on September 12 with 15 cities and provinces that need to upgrade, expand, or build airports and are seeking investment in the form of public-private partnerships (PPPs). Investment in airport construction, he said, would promote socio-economic development in the locality and also the country. He asked that investors be quickly selected for the construction of Sa Pa Airport in northern Lao Cai province, others in central Quang Tri and northern Lai Chau provinces, and Phan Thiet Airport in south-central Binh Thuan province in late 2022 and early 2023.

Commenting on a draft government Decree on the management, operation, and maintenance of expressways, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) said it believes it is necessary to add content on traffic organization plans to PPP contracts to reduce project risk. It also recommended publishing traffic information as open data to make better use of the resource.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has launched the “120 days and nights to implement the four expressway projects of Mai Son - National Highway No. 45, Cam Lo - La Son, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet, and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay” emulation program. These four expressways, which are sub-component projects of the first phase of the North-South Expressway, are to be completed by the end of 2022. The impact of Covid-19, adverse weather, rising building material prices, and other issues have presented many problems hindering construction.
