Phu Yen plans three more urban areas along Ba River

South-central Phu Yen province plans to develop three more urban areas along the banks of the Ba River on a total area of nearly 23,000 ha. It will have eight urban areas in the future on both sides of the river, which flows for 388 km through Kon Tum and Gia Lai provinces in the central highlands before spilling out into the sea in Phu Yen and is a highlight in the economic development corridor along Phu Yen’s East-West axis.

Two spans of Van Tien Bridge meet

The two spans of the Van Tien Bridge in northern Quang Ninh province came together on December 5 after eleven months of construction. With a length of 1.5 km and costing more than VND800 billion ($35 million), the bridge is part of the Van Don - Mong Cai Expressway, which itself is part of the country’s national highway network.

11M public investment disbursement in Da Nang at 76.4% of plan

Central Da Nang city disbursed public investment capital of VND5.3 trillion ($231.9 million) in the first eleven months of the year, reaching 76.4 per cent of the plan. The city is speeding up the construction of many projects so that by January 31 it will have disbursed 95-100 per cent of the 2021 plan.

Priority given to three urgent projects in Dien Bien

The terrain in northern mountainous Dien Bien province is primarily hills and mountains, making railway and inland waterway transport impossible, with goods and passengers transported by either road or aircraft. Despite capital being limited, the Ministry of Transport will prioritize pouring over VND2 trillion ($87.7 million) of public investment in the 2021-2025 period into three urgent projects in the province: renovating and upgrading National Highway No. 279B and National Highway No. 12, and expanding Dien Bien Airport.

Completion of new bridge in Quang Ninh on horizon

The Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee has approved a plan to select contractors for the last two bidding packages (fifth phase) of the Cua Luc 1 Bridge project, with the total investment of VND2.1 trillion ($92 million) to come from the northern province. Concrete was poured to complete the closure point of the bridge on November 2, and construction is being sped up so as to finish by the end of December.
