Central Quang Nam province has approved the addition of two transport infrastructure projects with total investment of VND4.3 trillion ($192 million) to its medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period, to promote the development of its coastal economic zone with a focus on the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.

South-central Binh Thuan province has approved the construction of the Becamex VSIP Binh Thuan Industrial - Service - Urban project in La Gi town and Ham Tan district, with a scale of nearly 5,000 ha and total investment of $3 billion. La Gi has attracted a series of billion-dollar projects and is becoming the largest economic center in Binh Thuan’s southern reaches. The province currently has nine industrial parks on 3,000 ha in total.

Nam Dinh province is set to pour VND6 trillion ($265.05 million) from the provincial budget and other sources into building a new road stretching nearly 25 km before 2030. The road will ease the pressure on National Highway No. 21 and increase links with arterial roads in the area.

Construction of the T2 passenger terminal at Cat Bi International Airport is to begin early next year, with total investment of over VND2 trillion ($88 million) and a capacity of welcoming 5 million passengers a year. Cat Bi serves socio-economic activities in northern Hai Phong city and the northern coastal region as a whole.

In an official document sent to the National Assembly delegation of northern Son La province, the Ministry of Transport said it will prioritize VND1.7 trillion ($75.09 million) in capital support for the building of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway. The 85-km route, 36 km of which passes through Son La, will be implemented in the public-private partnership (PPP) form, with total investment of more than VND22 trillion ($971.4 million) in the first phase.

The government has issued a Decree on the management and settlement of projects using public investment capital. With regard to ODA and concessional loans from foreign donors arranged for public investment projects, capital withdrawal procedures and management shall comply with international treaties and the government’s regulations on the management and use of such resources.
