Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected electricity production and supply in northern Quang Ninh province on June 11.

The government leader visited the Mong Duong Thermal Power Company and the Quang Ninh Thermal Power JSC.

He also inspected coal mining and supply for thermal power plants at the Ha Tu Coal JSC.

The Prime Minister later held a working session with relevant ministries and agencies and Quang Ninh authorities to discuss electricity production and supply and coal mining and supply for electricity production.

Electricity production in Quang Ninh reached an estimated 3.6 billion kWh in May, up 23.12 per cent year-on-year.

It generated 16.7 billion kWh in the first five months of 2023, accounting for 15 per cent of the country’s total.
