The Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony on March 30 to announce general adjustments to the construction master plan for the Dung Quat Economic Zone to 2045.
The adjustments were approved recently by the Prime Minister.
Dung Quat is to cover an area of 45,300 ha under the planning. By 2045, it will be a multi-sector, multi-field economic center that includes industry, trade, services, tourism, and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.
It is set to become a developed urban, service, and tourism area in the central key economic region, with five main functional subdivisions - Dung Quat North, Chau O - Binh Long, Dung Quat South, Dung Quat Southeast, and Ly Son.
Chairman of the People’s Committee Dang Van Minh said the adjustments provide an important legal basis for the central province to remove many bottlenecks and address shortcomings hindering Dung Quat’s development over the past year, to meet socio-economic development and investment demand.
