Hai Phong may establish tourism management boards

In a bid to improve the image and quality of the local tourism sector, the Hai Phong Department of Tourism has proposed that the Hai Phong City People’s Committee establish a Tourism Area Management Board in each district with tourist resorts. The Boards would help authorities at all levels research and assess the sustainable exploitation of natural resources and the development of tourism products and brands in the northern port city.

Construction of GNP Nam Dinh Vu - Industrial Center underway in Hai Phong

Hong Kong (China)’s Gaw NP Industrial Investment Fund cooperated with the Hai Long Construction Joint Stock Company on September 27 to hold a breaking ground ceremony for the GNP Nam Dinh Vu - Industrial Center project at the Nam Dinh Vu Non-tariff and Industrial Park in northern Hai Phong city. The project has total investment of $38.5 million and a construction area of some 170,000 sq m. Construction will take 300 days, with the first blocks of land expected to be leased in the second quarter of 2023.

Due to overloading of main construction items and impressive growth in passenger volume, especially international passengers, Cat Bi International Airport in Hai Phong is expected to increase its capacity to 18-20 million passengers per year. In the future, Cat Bi International Airport will welcome a wave of international airlines opening new routes to Hai Phong and traditional airlines to expand their networks and increase flight frequency.

Hai Phong promoting attraction of South Korean FDI

The Hai Phong City People’s Committee worked with the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry to organize an Investment Promotion Conference with South Korean businesses in Seoul. At the conference, city leaders presented investment certificates for a number of new South Korean projects. The city is expected to attract $4 billion in FDI from South Korean businesses this year.
