Vietnamese and Thai firms seek cooperation opportunities at Meet Thailand in Da Nang

The “Meet Thailand in Da Nang 2024” conference opened in the central city on September 27 with the participation of over 300 delegates from central and local agencies, leading organizations and corporations, and businesses in Vietnam and Thailand.

The conference served as a venue for localities and businesses of the two countries to meet, exchange and seek business and investment cooperation opportunities.

At the event, participants also proposed solutions to enhance connectivity and promote bilateral cooperation in various fields, including trade and investment, supply chain and sustainable tourism.

Addressing the conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Nguyen Minh Hang noted that Thailand is the largest trade partner and the second largest foreign investor of Vietnam in ASEAN.

The conference was an opportunity for businesses and localities of the two countries to boost cooperation and expand business and investment, as well as for the two countries to promote and facilitate investment in each country's priority areas such as digital economy, green economy, high-tech industries.

Vietnam and Thailand are striving to soon fulfill the target of $25 billion in two-way trade turnover, she said.

The conference featured two discussion sessions focusing on sustainable tourism development, and fostering investment connectivity and supply chain integration.
