Vietnam exported over 197,000 tons of pepper this year, as of October 15, earning $1.33 billion, surpassing the record value of $1.3 billion for the entire year of 2024, according to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA).
In the first half of October, more than 9,000 tons of pepper were shipped abroad, worth $59.9 million, representing a decrease of 14.1% in volume and 13.6% in value, compared to the same period in the previous month.
Vietnam remains the world's leader in pepper exports, with 188,100 tons exported at the value of $1.27 billion during the first three quarters of 2025.
The United States, Germany, and India remained the top buyers, accounting for 24.7%, 8.1%, and 6.1% of Vietnam’s total export market, respectively.
The average export price in the first nine months reached $6,733.5 per ton, marking a 37.4% increase year-on-year, driven by rising global demand and tighter supply.
