The prestigious Michelin Guide—a global symbol of excellence and culinary refinement— on Octover 8 officially announced the expansion  of its Michelin Key global rating system  into the accommodation sector.

Vietnam made an impressive debut, with 13 hotels and resorts honored in the inaugural announcement.

This is for the first time ever that Michelin Guide expanded such a global rating system into the accommodation sector.

Instead of focusing solely on amenities, the Michelin Key system evaluates hotels based on five universal criteria: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price, and a significant contribution to the neighborhood or setting.

Vietnam proudly earned recognition for 13 establishments, including two properties that achieved the highest three-key rating—signifying “An extraordinary stay”: Capella Hanoi (Hanoi) and Amanoi Resort (in the former province of Ninh Thuan, now Khanh Hoa).

Those awarded two keys—representing “An exceptional stay”—include Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai (in the former province of Quang Nam, now Da Nang City), Banyan Tree Lang Co (in the former province of Thua Thien Hue, now Hue City), and Zannier Hotels Bai San Ho (in the former province of Phu Yen, now Dak Lak province).

Meanwhile, the properties honored with one key, signifying “ A very special stay”, are: Azerai Ke Ga Bay (in the former province of Binh Thuan, now Lam Dong province), Legacy Cruises Mekong (Can Tho City), Six Senses Con Dao (in the former province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, now Ho Chi Minh City), Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi (Hanoi), Park Hyatt Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Six Senses Ninh Van Bay (Khanh Hoa), Regent Phu Quoc (in the former province of Kien Giang, now An Giang province), and Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery (Lao Cai).
