FPT Automotive announced on January 4 that it has opened a new office in Pune, India.
Through the opening, the company aims to attract additional potential customers. Pune is considered one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturing centers, hosting renowned carmakers such as Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Bajaj Auto, and Hero MotoCorp, as well as global startups and tech companies like Red Hat, Quick Heal, Cisco, IBM, and Oracle.
It expects that the new office will help increase resources globally to quickly respond to shifting demands in the automotive industry and optimize the values delivered to customers in terms of deployment speed, scale, and product development efficiency. It is anticipated that, by 2026, the India office will have 500 personnel, primarily consisting of highly-skilled tech engineers with comprehensive capabilities.
Mr. Kinh Nguyen, CEO of FPT Automotive, said that with a team of personnel knowledgeable in and pioneering new technologies in the automotive industry, FPT Automotive will accelerate its journey with customers to swiftly bring products to the market. “The values we build will focus on the development of a mobile society by accompanying global customers, aiming to become a pioneering company in the development of the world’s software-defined vehicles,” he added.
Established by FPT in December 2023 to conquer the multibillion-dollar automotive software market, FPT Automotive is headquartered in Texas. Before founding FPT Automotive, FPT had invested in the field for over ten years with a team of more than 4,000 experts developing comprehensive automotive software services, ranging from entertainment technology, in-car information, electronic control units (ECU), and safety and security functions, to UI/UX design for cars, wireless connectivity, and digital technology. With growth of around 40 per cent in recent years, the sector contributed significantly to FPT achieving the milestone of $1 billion in IT service revenue in foreign markets in 2023.
FPT’s comprehensive technology solution for cars, MaaZ, was globally recognized at the AutoTech Breakthrough Awards - annual international awards dedicated to innovative initiatives in automotive technology.
FPT has a network of 150 customers, including leading enterprises in the industry such as Volvo, Honda, Hyundai, Ford, LG, Panasonic, VinFast, and NXP. The company has recently reached an agreement to cooperate in software development for devices with Nippon Seiki, a leading global group in meters and head-up displays (HUD) for cars and motorcycles.
It is also positioned as a major contender along with major names like Infosys, Tata Technologies, Cognizant, and NTT DATA, according to a recent Everest Group announcement on ACES (Automated, Connected, Electric, and Share Vehicles) for 26 global automotive software providers. The company aims to post revenue of $1 billion in this area by 2030.
