Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Dinh Viet Thang said that in the past 10 months, the domestic aviation market has grown rapidly, but the international market has only recovered by about 50 per cent. Airlines and passenger transport providers still have to deal with the unfavorable problems left by the epidemic, especially the imbalance of cash flow in 2 years that freezes operations.
After consulting with businesses and analysts on a draft report on the implementation of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Law, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has made a series of comments. Analysts believe there are still many inadequate regulations on civil aviation when the State intervenes in production and business plans or restricts aircraft procurement activities, hindering the development of the sector. To solve the problems, the VCCI made two important suggestions relating to utilizing the resources of enterprises and aircraft parking issues.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has forecast that the global aviation market will recover and exceed pre-Covid-19 levels in early 2024, catering to a total of 4 billion passengers. It also believes that Vietnam will be the fifth fastest-growing aviation market in the world, catering to 150 million passengers by 2035. To speed up recovery in its aviation industry, Vietnam needs to promote trade and the linking of technology and services with airlines around the world.
The Vietnam International Aviation Exhibition (VIAE 2022) is being held from September 15 to 17 in Hanoi and will attract more than 50 domestic and foreign enterprises, manufacturers, training schools, and airlines.
