The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has asked 12 localities where the North-South Expressway (second phase) passes through to adopt plans to relocate technical infrastructure so the second phase of construction can proceed.
Construction has been delayed as management boards and users of technical infrastructure are unwilling to relocate these works without being compensated, which slows down site clearance.
The MoT also asked investors of expressway sub-projects to build relocation plans that ensure economic efficiency and do not affect the security of the technical infrastructure or transport safety.
As of April, localities had handed over land to build 583 km of the expressway, or nearly 81 per cent of the target.
The second phase will be built in the 2021-2025 period. The 729-km phase has total investment of nearly VND147 trillion ($6.2 billion).
