At the Vietnam Economic Pulse 2022 Forum organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) on November 22, Ms. Ramla Khalidi, the UNDP’s Resident Representative in Vietnam, said the country’s economic prospects are bright but some risks are rising. The National Center for Socio-Economic Information and Forecast (NCIF), under MPI, proposed two scenarios for Vietnam’s economic growth in 2023 at the Forum. In the optimistic scenario, GDP could reach 6.5-6.7 per cent.

At a meeting with leaders from Ninh Binh province on November 18, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the northern province to make every effort to exploit its potential, especially in the marine economy and the southwestern mountainous ecological region. The province needs to focus all resources on developing infrastructure and synchronously implementing solutions for administrative reform and improving the business and investment environment.

On November 17 in Bangkok, during his official visit to Thailand and attendance at the 29th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with leaders from a number of major Thai corporations and businesses with large-scale investment projects in Vietnam, such as SCG, the Amata Group, and the CP Group.
