Monthly CPI up 1% in February

Increases in the price of petrol and food were the main factors behind the CPI rising 1 per cent in February compared to January. The CPI rose 1.68 per cent year-on-year in the first two months of the year. Core inflation in February increased 0.49 per cent compared to January, and 0.67 per cent year-on-year in the first two months.

Strategic partnership with Singapore bolstered

According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs To Anh Dung, on the occasion of State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to Singapore from February 24 to February 26, the two sides signed and exchanged 29 MoUs and contracts worth more than $11 billion in fields such as innovation, smart industrial parks, airport infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, and environmental treatment, among others. The visit also promoted the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore.

PM arranges for protection of Vietnamese citizens in Ukraine

With armed conflict continuing in Ukraine, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has requested that ministries and branches cooperate in protecting Vietnamese citizens and legal entities in the country. He asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to develop a plan to ensure their security and safety, evacuate citizens and mission members when necessary, and provide assistance in terms of shelter, food, and other necessities.
