The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has sent documents to the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation to issue an official aviation notice to aviation authorities in foreign countries regarding Vietnam reopening all regular international flights starting from February 15, with no limitations on flight numbers. International routes to new destinations such as the Middle East and Turkey will also be introduced in the time to come.

Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Price Management Steering Committee Le Minh Khai has asked nine ministries and sectors to closely monitor movements in supply and demand and price fluctuations in order to promptly respond and control inflation.

Vietnam aims to attract 8-9 million international visitors and cater to 65-70 million domestic tourists in the 2022-2023 period, with total revenue expected to reach VND400-VND450 trillion ($17.6-$19.8 billion). The country will focus on developing unique tourism products in each locality and region.

In a draft government resolution to build 729 km of the Eastern North-South Expressway in the second phase, the Ministry of Transport (MoT) proposed a series of specific mechanisms to shorten the timeframe and ensure that construction of 12 component projects gets underway before December 31. The project will be basically completed in 2025 and put into operation from 2026.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has said it is necessary to exempt unilateral visas for citizens from 24 countries and territories entering Vietnam and to apply electronic visas for citizens from 46 countries and territories. It has also proposed conducting the second phase of the program welcoming international tourists until March 30, and to fully open up international tourism from March 31.

The Ministry of Information and Communications will submit a strategy for the development of the digital economy and digital society to 2025 and vision to 2030 to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh this month. The strategy targets that, by 2025, the share of the digital economy will reach 20 per cent of GDP, and the cloud computing market share will hit 75 per cent, among others.
