Chinese tech firm Zhongji Innolight, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-speed optical modules specializing in equipment for AI data centers and next-generation telecommunication networks, is currently surveying and exploring investment opportunities in industrial parks across Vietnam's northern Bac Ninh province.
The initial investment for the project is expected to reach approximately $800 million, covering a land area of about 33 ha. This information was shared by Mr. Richard Zeng, CEO of Zhongji Innolight Co., Ltd. (Vietnam), during a recent working session with the provincial authorities.
According to the plan, the project’s power demand will be divided into phases: Phase 1 will require approximately 25,000 kVA; Phase 2 about 10,000 kVA; and Phase 3 ranging from 150,000 to 200,000 kVA.
During the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Pham Hoang Son, highlighted the province’s outstanding advantages and potential. He specifically emphasized the province's vast industrial land bank and the practical support policies available to investors.
Currently, Chinese enterprises rank first in the number of foreign businesses operating in the province, including several major semiconductor chip manufacturers.
Bac Ninh’s infrastructure is also undergoing significant development, offering highly favorable transportation links. The province currently ranks 5th in the country in terms of economic scale. Notably, Gia Binh Airport is expected to become operational early next year, situated near the company's proposed project site.
Mr. Son affirmed that the province is committed to ensuring a stable power supply to fully meet the production and business requirements of the enterprise throughout all stages of its development.
