ASEAN Online Sale Day 2021 will be held from August 8 to 10, hosted by Brunei Darussalam, which is ASEAN Chairman this year, Singapore, and Vietnam, with two main activities: domestic e-commerce and cross-border e-commerce. The day aims to encourage and promote e-commerce and cross-border e-commerce throughout ASEAN, contributing to the implementation of the ASEAN Agreement on e-commerce.
Vietnam is considered a “land of promise” within Southeast Asia for domestic and foreign fintech (financial technology) businesses. It is expected that local market transactions will reach $22 billion in 2025, up sharply from $9 billion in 2019.
Vietnam is seeing among the highest growth in e-payments in the world, at about 35 per cent each year, of which e-wallets have found particular favor among the population as a modern and convenient method of payment.

Under Decree No. 70/2021/ND-CP, foreign organizations and individuals providing cross-border advertising services and generating revenue in Vietnam via websites, social networks, and apps must comply with the provisions of Vietnamese law on advertising and the management, provision, and use of internet services and information on the internet and also pay taxes.
