Construction of a social housing project in northern Hai Phong city kicked off on May 28 with total investment of nearly VND1.6 trillion ($67.5 million).
The project will build 2,538 units on a total floor area of nearly 177,000 sq m for more than 9,100 workers.
This is a key project in implementing the city’s objectives of developing social housing as well as the government’s master plan on building at least a million social houses for low-income earners and workers at industrial parks during the 2021-2030 period.
The city plans to build 33,500 social houses in total by 2030.
Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Tho said the city has paid due regard to investing in building social housing and houses for workers, to encourage them to work and to contribute to helping businesses in industrial parks develop sustainably.
