A proposal has been made for a new passenger terminal to be built at Vinh International Airport in north-central Nghe An province with a capacity of 12 million passengers a year and also an additional runway. Current capacity is only 2 million passengers a year.

Northern Thai Binh province has emerged as a new industrial market in Vietnam’s north. It ranked 15th out of Vietnam’s 63 cities and provinces in FDI attraction in 2021, in large part due to the contribution of the Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park. In its two years, the industrial park has attracted a huge volume of FDI capital and become a spotlight for investment in the whole country, with the local real estate market expected to welcome a strong wave of investment.

The Ministry of Transport needs to disburse more than VND28 trillion ($1.18 billion) from now to the end of the year. It has asked project management boards and investors with low disbursement results to propose solutions to boost progress. As of the end of August, the ministry had disbursed more than VND22 trillion ($925.92 million) this year, or 44.1 per cent of the plan, which is higher than the average of other units.

The Cam Lo - La Son Highway connecting central Quang Tri province and Thua Thien-Hue province is preparing for completion, with contractors striving to finish everything by the end of October, meeting the government’s general goal of opening 361 km of the Eastern North-South Expressway, first phase, this year.

A working group led by Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh will report on a study on converting two military airports into dual-use airports and consider investment by cities and provinces in four airports under the PPP method in the fourth quarter of this year.
