The 7.5-km Cao Bang city bypass, with total investment of nearly VND222 billion ($9.66 million) from the State budget, has been approved by the Ministry of Transport (MoT). After being “suspended” for more than six years, the project is expected to be completed in 2024.

The North-South Expressway project, second phase, in the 2021-2025 period will be subject to many specific mechanisms to shorten preparation time before construction begins. Construction of the 729-km project, which passes through 12 cities and provinces and has total public investment of nearly VND147 trillion ($6.4 billion), will begin at the end of this year and be completed in 2025. It will be put into operation by 2026.

The government has submitted to the National Assembly for consideration and decision the investment policies for three key national highway projects, with public investment of more than VND84 trillion ($3.67 billion). The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Highway, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Highway, and the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Highway will apply specific policies and mechanisms to promote the decentralization of authorization to accelerate completion by 2025.

After more than a decade of delay, the Ring Road No. 4 project in the Capital region around Hanoi and the Ring Road No. 3 project in Ho Chi Minh City have been revived after the National Assembly (NA) promulgated specific mechanisms on funding sources, such as the government issuing bonds to lend to localities, a measure to integrate central and local budgets, and increases to medium-term public investment capital.

The Mekong Delta’s Hau Giang province has approved planning for the development of industrial parks (IPs) and service-urban areas for local IPs in the 2021-2030 period. Ten IPs are on the planning list, with a total area of more than 3,900 ha. There will be six in Chau Thanh district; the largest number in a single locality.

Vietnam’s Sunny World Investment and Development Corporation signed strategic cooperation agreements with two Japanese partners - Daiwa House Group and Medi Hub - on May 2, in developing infrastructure and real estate projects and in high-tech healthcare centers. The projects will contribute to turning Ho Chi Minh City into an international-standard metropolis.
