Customs authorities have just detected and seized 4,998 mobile phones of various brands and 2,550 pairs of children's shoes, suspected of intellectual property rights infringement, in transit shipments passing through Vietnam's territory.
These cases are currently being processed by the Customs agency in accordance with regulations.
This is the result of an intensified inspection and control plan against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, implemented by the customs force under the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Finance.
From July to September 2025, the customs force conducted three key inspection campaigns on transit shipments showing unusual signs.
According to Vietnam Customs, a series of activities was deployed to strictly implement the directives of the Prime Minister oulined in Official Dispatch No. 341/TB-VPCP dated July 1, 2025, and Official Telegram No. 01/CĐ-BTC dated July 18, 2025, from the Minister of Finance, regarding the continued promotion of attacks and suppression of crimes involving smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement.
The customs force affirmed that it will continue to maintain regular inspections and controls, not only during peak periods but at all times, to prevent prohibited goods, counterfeit goods, and to protect intellectual property rights and public health safety.
