Southern Dong Nai province granted investment licenses on January 8 to nine projects with capital of $410 million in total, of which eight were FDI projects with $370 million.
SEA Logistic Partners (SLP), an industrial and logistics facility developer backed by the Singapore-based warehouse giant GLP, received an investment license to invest $121 million in SLP Park Loc An Binh Son, which will provide logistics services and warehousing for lease in the Loc An-Binh Son Industrial Park.
Nestlé Vietnam, meanwhile, will invest an additional $100 million in its Tri An factory at the Amata Industrial Park. It has previously invested a total of $730 million in Vietnam, with the latest investment of $132 million coming in October 2021. Nestlé now operates four factories and two distribution centers in Vietnam, including three plants in Dong Nai.
Other major new projects include the Hong Kong (China)-invested Freudenberg & Vilene International Vietnam, with $10 million to go to cotton production, the South Korea-invested KCTC Vina, with $10 million for a storage facility, and the Hong Kong (China)-invested Ryder Industries Vietnam, with $15 million for an electronics manufacturing factory.
Projects adding capital to existing projects include the Taiwan (China)-invested rubber company Kenda Vietnam, with $80 million, the South Korea-invested chemical company Hyosung Dong Nai, with $19 million, and Taiwan (China)-invested sports equipment manufacturer Advanced Multitech, with $18 million.
Dong Nai authorities also granted an investment license to Vietnam’s Ho Nai Industrial Park JSC, which raises its existing investment by VND871 billion ($35.8 million) to VND1.8 trillion ($74.1 million).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang, Deputy Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, said these projects are a good sign for socio-economic development in the province, with a focus on fields such as logistics and high technology, supporting industries, and investment in industrial park infrastructure.
