10M coffee exports see record turnover increase

Figures from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) show that Vietnam exported 1.42 million tons of coffee in the first ten months of 2022, a 10.8 per cent increase year-on-year, for turnover of $3.22 billion, up 33.7 per cent. This is the highest increase in export volume for four years and a record high increase in turnover.

On November 10, at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAN-BIS) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam contributes to the development of ASEAN and is willing to cooperate to promote digital infrastructure connectivity towards a region of equal and sustainable digital development. It also accompanies businesses in the ASEAN region and partner countries and strives to create the best conditions to make the most of business and investment opportunities.

NA approves Resolution on 2023 socio-economic development plan

The fourth session of the 15th National Assembly (NA) approved a Resolution on the socio-economic development plan in 2023 on November 10. Among other targets, GDP growth is to be 6.5 per cent, GDP per capita $4,400, and average CPI 4.5 per cent, with the rate of poor households to fall by 1-1.5 per cent.

Exports to EU post impressive growth in 2 years of EUVFTA

After two years of implementing the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EUVFTA), from August 2020 to July 2022, total export turnover from Vietnam to the bloc stood at $83.4 billion, or $41.7 billion a year on average, which is 24 per cent higher than the average in the 2016-2019 period. Many export items have seen impressive growth, such as iron and steel, cameras, and machinery, etc.

Ha Tinh planning broad development

Under north-central Ha Tinh province’s planning for the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050, approved recently by Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh, it is to become a development pole in the north-central region and central coast by 2030 and be in the top 20 cities and provinces posting the highest gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the country. It will also develop key industries, including steel, manufacturing, electricity production, and supporting industries.

On November 8, during talks between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who is on an official visit to Cambodia,, and Prime Minister Hun Sen, the two sides affirmed their determination to advance relations in an increasingly substantive and effective manner, considering this an objective and inevitable requirement for both. After the talks, the two Prime Ministers witnessed the signing of eleven cooperation documents between the two countries.
