Members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) sold 46,153 units in the first two months of 2026, marking a year-on-year increase of 39%.
Sales of domestically assembled vehicles increased 35% compared with the same period last year, while imported vehicle sales grew 42%.
Passenger car sales rose 34% year-on-year, while commercial vehicle sales jumped 51%.
In February alone, 19,278 units were sold, down 10.8% year-on-year and 48% compared with the previous month.
Passenger cars accounted for the largest share with 12,376 units, falling 53% from January. Commercial vehicles followed with 6,542 units, down 37%, while sales of specialised vehicles reached 360 units, a decline of 22%.
Sales of domestically assembled vehicles totalled 9,220 units in February, plunging 49% from the previous month. Meanwhile, imported completely built-up (CBU) vehicles reached 10,058 units, down 47%.
